Eldercare Robotics LLC was founded in 2024 by Eduard Takhunts while caring for his father, who lives with Alzheimer’s. What began as a personal effort to bring his father more comfort, conversation, and structure became a mission to help every family in the same position.
That mission is Luka Bear — a soft, AI-powered companion designed to support the people doing some of the hardest, most loving work in the world: family caregivers, memory care professionals, and the seniors they care for.
We’ve been running pilots continuously since December 2024, refining Luka through real-world feedback from families and care communities. Today, the company is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, with a growing team of caregivers, technologists, and advisors.
