Delivery & Setup
In MD, VA, DC and PA we set Luka up in person; everywhere else, we do it together over a video call. We connect Wi-Fi, show you around, and answer questions (15-30 min). Your first month begins.
Luka ships anywhere in the United States, and we set it up with you wherever you live. In Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and Pennsylvania our team comes in person; everywhere else, we do the same steps together over a video call. We:
- Get Luka to your home or facility, ready to use
- Set up the device with you (typically 15-30 minutes)
- Connects Luka to your WiFi network
- Provides initial training on basic operations
- Answers your questions and demonstrates key features
- Leaves you with contact information for ongoing support
Important: You must have WiFi internet available at the delivery location.

4 · Delivery, setup and month-to-month from there
- Ships anywhere in the United States, with in-person setup in MD, VA, DC and PA, and setup over a video call everywhere else
- We set up the Caregiver Companion App on your phone, four taps
- $129/month, cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice and no cancellation fee

Important: Luka Bear is a wellness and companion device, NOT a medical device. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services (911). When your loved one says a help phrase such as “I need help” while Luka is in Active mode, Luka phones the caregiver. Luka does NOT call 911 or dispatch emergency personnel.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to provide a credit card to join the waiting list?
A: No. Joining the list is free and takes no card details. You only add payment when you decide to go ahead.
Q: What if I change my mind after joining?
A: No problem at all. Joining places you under no obligation, and you can leave the list at any time by emailing us.
Q: Can I cancel after I start paying monthly?
A: Absolutely. Rental is month-to-month with no contracts. Cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice. We’ll schedule pickup and you’re done — no cancellation fees, no penalties.
Q: What if I choose the wrong finish?
A: Easy. Email us and we’ll swap the hard shell or soft cover at no cost. All your personalization (photos, biography, voice cloning) carries over.
Q: What happens to my personalization data if I return Luka?
A: Your personalization (photos, biography, family voices) is kept on Luka and in our cloud service, so you can manage it from the Caregiver Companion App. When you return Luka, we wipe the device, and on request we delete your family’s personalization data from our systems, including cloned voices. Away Monitoring activity clips are always deleted automatically after 7 days.
Q: Does Luka require internet to work?
A: Yes. Luka needs a Wi-Fi connection for conversation, music, weather and Voice Cloning™. A few key phrases still work if the internet drops. Setup is simple with on-screen WiFi configuration (no app or phone required).
Q: Is Luka FDA-approved?
A: Luka Bear is a wellness device, not a medical device, so FDA clearance is not required. It is designed to complement caregiver support and provide emotional/cognitive engagement, not to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Q: Can facilities get reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid?
A: We work with families on reimbursement pathways through Medicare Advantage SSBCI, Medicaid HCBS waivers, and Area Agencies on Aging grants. Contact us for current status and documentation support for your specific situation.
Q: Who can join the waiting list?
