There’s no app store download: we set it up at delivery from your private secure link, you tap “Add to Home Screen,” and it works like any app on your phone. Live camera, speak-through, Family Voice Library, Photo Visits, remote reminders, and Cognitive Guardian™ configuration are all included at no additional cost.
Q: Is there a long-term contract for Monthly Rental?
A: No. Monthly rental is flexible month-to-month. Cancel anytime with reasonable notice and we’ll schedule free pickup.
Q: Are there any hidden fees?

Q: What if I want to add more users later?

Q: What happens after I buy the device with Own It?

Q: Can FSA/HSA funds be used for Own It purchases?
A: Many families choose Own It because a one-time assistive technology purchase may be easier to submit for FSA/HSA reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator for eligibility.
Q: Do I need Wi-Fi?
A: Yes. Conversation, music, weather and Voice Cloning™ need an internet connection; a few key phrases still work when the internet drops. We assist with setup during delivery. The Caregiver Companion App works from your phone on any network — cellular or Wi-Fi, anywhere in the world.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: All major credit cards and ACH bank transfers through Stripe’s secure checkout.
Q: Can I get reimbursement through Medicare or Medicaid?
A: Medicaid self-direction pathways (Maryland CFC, Virginia CCC Plus, DC Services My Way, Pennsylvania CHC, New York CDPAP) are available for eligible members — these require coordination with your care manager or supports planner. HSA/FSA and VA benefits are available today with no waiting. Additional payer pathways are on our roadmap. Q: Is Luka FDA-approved?
A: Luka Bear is a non-medical assistive wellness device classified under the FDA General Wellness Policy (July 2016). FDA medical device clearance is not required. It is designed to complement caregiver support — not to diagnose or treat medical conditions.
